Reviewing all of Cayman

Reviewing everything in the Cayman Islands for you

I am not the best at paying bills. I have to be honest. When it is made even harder for me though – it frustrates me to no end.
My internet was out. My land line was out. Grrr… I forgot to pay the bill. Or did I? Well, yes, I did… Ill get to the point. Every month I receive the little email notification that my bill is ready to be paid and thus keep up to date with the payments and never loose internet. I am at a loss without internet. Not only to keep the masses of readers to this blog happy – but also so I can mind numbingly flick through pages and pages of the latest gibberish. I digress.

I called them and the customer service number didn’t work. Eventually, it did. The same number. A pleasant lady answered the phone and immediately told me that my account was in arrears. I knew that – but wanted to act shocked when she told me. It’s this personality trait that I have:
“Reeaallllyy??? – but I didnt get the email notification telling me that it was… ”

After all of that I had to go to the nearest C&W in West Bay. I went in and I asked them to look me up on the computer and tell me what I was owed. What was said next is one of the strangest things that I ever heard.
“If you pay here, your internet will not work for a day or two!” – Sorry?

“You need to go to Seven Mile for it to work tonight”

I move on to the third part of my adventure. I drive to Seven Mile and i go into the store. The lady was on the phone to her friend and told me to step back from the counter as she will be with me in a moment. I eventually paid and she gave me the receipt. She also told me that it will be up and running in 5 minutes. OK. Perfect. I get home, make coffee. I turn on my computer. No internet. Back to Part 1 of the adventure – literally. I call – the same lady tells me it is going to take an hour for it to work. Call back if it doesnt. I call back in an hour. The same lady tells me – still pleasant – it is going to take an hour to two hours for it to work. I wait two hours. I call back. The same lady tells me – still pleasant – it is going to take two hours minimum for it to work. I explain that this is the third person that has told me it is going to take longer. They even checked the system and saw my payment. What is going on? I need my gif file fix. I need to press refresh on facebook. I need to update my status. I need to see streaming TV in front of me. I need to download the newest shows in the form of Torrent files. WHAT IS GOING ON?

Oh, sorry Sir. We didn’t turn it on. You should be good to go now…
