If you stood looking out of the window of Edodsc_0022ardo’s since it’s inception, you would have seen many many changes to the landscape… Dj’s Cantina came and went. Dive shops, real estate agents and other notables have opened and closed. Now there is a new building nearing completion and looks like every other building on the strip. Ah that canary yellow. Still, Eduardo’s is still there. It is a Cayman classic that is ever prevalent.

It too recently refurbished the bar area to allow a smoking area and waiting area in case of a full restaurant. The bar area inside has moved as a result allowing a couple more tables and more intimate facades. It is nice – though bad timing with a smoking ban coming into effect, still – they are not alone in this one.

The classics of the is restaurant are still there. Mainly, the Filet Cambozola. What a sensation! The menu is rich in sauce, rich in calories, but rich in taste. Sometimes too mush sauce is the mark of an over exuberant chef. But Eduardo’s is allowed at this late time in the game.

What was embarrassing was the fact that 4 of the wine’s that were ordered for the table were not available on that night. Simply embarrassing. To be clear, I was not ordering a Santa margarita Pinot Grigio here. We are talking $70/$80 bottles of wine. Simply no excuse, no matter what is happening at the time. I am sure the restaurant is making it’s mark up. The waiter was struggling with all of this and with his other two tables, bless him. He was flustered and I would hazard a guess that he did not have too much experience under his belt. Back in the day, you would never have had such issues. 35 minutes after arrival we hadn’t ordered our food yet and the wine was just being poured. I get mad when I am hungry. At least I admit it!

Again, the food was good for the most part. The ambiance was lovely. The birthday celebrations were just getting started, we forgot about the unfortunate incidents. The gratuitous port was offered at the end of the night. The coffee’s were welcomed after the mediocre wine and the bill was paid happily enough. I think my head was a worse from the wine in the morning than it perhaps could have been.
